Christmas and shopping and ...cr@p! is it just me?

Ive been the married man, the kids etc etc. Christmas was great when the kids were little and young, they are all grown up now.

Christmas....its becoem one big bloody chore, it has no purpose or meaning anymore, at least, the modern version of christmas, the material one, the one the media shove down our throats and society tells us to get out there and spend spend spend...
its madness!

women lap it up, its a shopping frenzy, a consumer feeding frenzy!

men dont like shopping, I hate it. I dotn mind spending money, its the pressure to get out there and join in with this cr@p that really bugs me.

of you miserable sod is often the call, usually from women, well darling, lets sit down to a nice romantic game of football....erm no? you miserable cow!

the basic message of christmas love, albeit and ideal society cant ever live up to, but its message of hope and belief in the goodwill of mankind I find marvellous.

anyone lse just want to bury their heads int he sand?

Next year, provided i have the cash for it, i'm gathering everyone I care about and setting up a cruise. Nothing says christmas better then a sunset off the stern of a giant boat plying the caribbean.

I am not against a big meal and drinks with family for Christmas.
But the commercial crap - you can shove it.

No mate - you are spot on, and most men should tell their chicks to go it alone if they want to go shopping.
