Evidently this advice columnist thinks so ...

I think the columnist is trying to shame him into staying with the old woman.
If he doesn't want to be with the mom anymore, that's fine. It sucks for the mom, but there's nothing necessarily morally wrong with it. Sorry, but shacking up with the stepdaughter is morally repugnant. There's plenty of other fish in the sea to choose from.

He should have stayed single rather than marry and cheat....nevertheless he's not related to her adult daughter. So while I can see why the wife is devastated, that doesn't make her daughter mentally ill. But this kind of b.s. is par for the course for this stupid columnist. Her headlines and stories are for women to read so they can be shocked, shocked....just like Us Weekly and their daily soaps. Women are perversely fascinated by this crap, and they love to feign disapproval. Deep down, their 25-year-old inner selves would be thrilled to have a clandestine affair that's so socially disapproved. If that's a mental disorder, then lock 'em all up I guess.
It may not be mental illness, but there is something wrong with this scenario. The daughter can find a good-looking guy her age or another sugar daddy. The stepdad can find another girl with daddy issues to dote on. Some things you just don't do.

This. Walk away, find something new. Don't do this.

No. That's far off the mark in my opinion. I think she's legitimately trying to understand the daughter's motivation and has just written the man off as a creep. The first thing that came to my mind was Woody Allen.

Hi MDJ,
So is Woody Allens cute little Korean Babe,Bi-Polar?....Seems to me,that Bi-Polar is like that much over used word "Paranoid"....A lady who is a bit eccentric in a way that someone finds distasteful is immediately branded Bi-Polar...Why???

Yeah there are tons of 25 year olds to choose from for a 58 year old.

Sometimes happiness comes at a moral cost. Oh well.

If a guy is rich and well off and takes care of himself, there are indeed plenty of 25 year olds with daddy issues to choose from.

I'm tempted to quote law of power #5. So much depends on reputation. Guard it with your life.

But seriously, fuuck everyone else.
