I don't know what it is like for you other cubicle jockeys like me that work in a building of 400 plus co-workers

Everytime I get inside or out of a lift I can feel the natural order of things that I am supposed to let the woman/women get in/out first.
Its just kind of expected and both theirs and my bodylanguage let it happen naturally.

But I am thinking now, what the fvck - why not run an experiment. These bytches get paid no more or less than me for doing the same job (at least on my floor), they have all the same workers rights as me - lets see what happens if I just get in and out of the lift first - just to observe their reaction.

Anyone else tried this?

I'm not sure I see what you are trying to get out of this. Is it just a simple social experiment? Or are you expecting these women to start wanting you because you are the only one that doesn't let them in the elevator first?

No mate - I am just thinking aloud. I guess it just annoys me that it is just EXPECTED that I will make way for them.

Why the fvck should I?

I see your point, but I feel like it is something that is such a minor issue, you could end up causing more harm than it is worth.

It seems like it's bothering you more than it should...

The only reason you let a woman in or out of a lift first is to check out her fine behind.

If it's a hideous behind, you get in and out of that lift first!
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Most things relating to women are "minor" - being broke or dead, that would be major.

Its just a post on a forum.

I've been noticing lately how women always expect men to defer to them and get out of their way. Lately I have tried just walking toward them as it they're not there (for instance, forcing them to walk on the RIGHT side of the sidewalk, as a courteous man would).

It's funny to see how shocked some of them look when they realize I'm not going to get out of their way. I have just disturbed the natural order of the universe!

Funny thing. Where I work, there are a lot of employees, and we have elevators. But I've never noticed any sort of protocol or order that people get in and out of them. I know "ladies first" is considered polite, but I've never seen that being considered around the elevators. Maybe we're just not a very polite bunch.
