So far a few posters seem to be getting good responses back from the Plenty of Fish "Congratulations" email opener I created.
Why do I feel it works?
First:
The title itself is different from the normal email headlines chicks get and the "Congratulations" title makes them feel they've "won" something.
Second: The email body in a semi-funny or could be serious way boosts their ego not on looks but on what they wrote..or didn't write..It makes them feel you are into them for what they wrote more than just their looks which is obvious why you wrote them in the beginning.
Third: The "adorable lil nerd" line is a compliment and a semi knock at the same time confusing them a bit.
Fourth: The banana that dances is eye catching.
The Fifth last part: "Ciao Bella" sends a possible exotic mystique from you the sender rather than a normal "write me back" or you are hot, gorgeous etc..
Title: Congratulations!
Body:
Congratulations. If I ever meet the owner of Plenty of Fish I’m going to demand to him that you be paid for your profile. For a free dating site, yours is THE greatest profile ever written in the history of online dating!
I swear I’m going to print it out and post it on my fridge to admire…FOREVER..Keep up the good work you adorable lil nerd!
Ciao bella. =)
I need to figure out a new intro email along the same lines that can be a general compliment to them rather than just looks and an eye catching headline..Any ideas?
I'm sure based of why I think the email works posters can come up with something along the same lines that we could use to not burn out the original one..
