Data show men are quicker to fall in love and more likely than women to want children: 54% of men say they have experienced love at first sight, compared with 44% of women; among singles without children under 18, more men (24%) than women (15%) say they want children.

And, across every age group, women want more independence than men in their relationships: 77% of women say having their personal space is "very important," vs. 58% for men; 78% of women say the same about having their own interests and hobbies (vs. 64% for men). And 35% of women (vs. 23% of men) say regular nights out with the guys/girls are important.

What do you guys think? Are more men suffering from oneitis? Are women becoming independent and needy of free time because their men are clingy?

i feel that we need to change this!

wow! haha, that's pretty sad.. Im glad to say I still enjoy my personal space, interests/hobbies, and nights out with my friends, and no girl no matter how attractive they are cannot take those things away from me!

The love at first site part makes sense because men are far more visual, but I question the wanting children part because what someone under the age of 18 says about what they want their adult life to be like is irrelevant and means nothing. Though I am surprised the # was so low, I'm not that into the whole picket fence thing, but always knew I would want kids when I got older, like 35ish.

The relationship questions kinda makes sense since guys in LTRs can get really clingy and make their life all about that one girl (sigh). The girl on the other hand prob still gets hit on a lot and thus doesn't get quite as much out of the relationship.

Also who are these men (23% in survey) who don't think time with guy friends is important. My friend is in an ltr with this girl and def has oneitis, they're really into each other, and he does lots of girly/lame stuff with her, but he always insists that he hangs out with his guy friends, even though she sometimes gets really upset when he does.

I'm skeptical about a lot of this survey. Where was it taken AFC-ville?

It is American. Not surprising.

I use this stuff against them. I tell chicks so many lies that I can't keep them all straight! In the end I usually end up deflowering some college chick and giving myself "air high-fives" as I walk around the next day. I am writing a book about my last five years of this lifestyle.

This is what happens when we allow the media to determine are lifestyles.

It's as if our lives are not real and the only reality we know is what comes off the tv, movies, magazines, facebook, youtube, and this study you've conjured up.

Do you know why they spends multi millions of dollars in advertisments? To sell their products, messages and subliminal messages. They don't care if it ruins your life, your family or the culture of a country as long as they profit off you and at the same time forward their agenda.

Even though you maybe indoctrinated, brainwashed by the media and given your power, control away to women.... Make a decision right now to run your own life by taking 100% responsibility for everything in your life. If you do that, then power rests in your hands and not in the hands of women or the media.

Yeah, it is Nice Guy culture.

It is far more pleasant to be a single independent young girl than a a single desperate guy.

Look around a club...happy women everywhere enjoying life meanwhile guys standing in the corner, sipping mariconada and being bored, slightly angry and frustrated.

The same goes for work. Meanwhile guy feels obliged to study something hard in order to get a good job, girls study whatever bs they want, get some nonsense job in nonsense departement and basically enjoying life, travelling, skipping jobs and being on the look out for the wealthy prince to make them pregnant in their 40s. Meanwhile spending the money on themselves in form of shoes and booze. And using players like walking dildos....that is us guys.

The pill and prosperity took out the responsibility from people.

Solution? I don't have any. Just do what you feel is right and look for the rare example of good wife or whatever.
