Picking up girls at the gym

I've been consistently going to the gym 5-6 days a week for 2 years now. Not just one, but dozens. From 24 hour fitness and YMCA all over California/Nevada, to the Gyms in Las Vegas Athletic club in, well, Las Vegas. I'm 25 years old, tip top shape, vascular and I've also noticed that my comfort level in picking up women is much more natural these days (coffee shops, parties, clubs, gym etc.). Let me tell you what I've done specifically at the gym...

Essential Elements to Success. Get noticed:

1. Must be in GREAT SHAPE: To pick up that hot woman it is almost always vital to be good looking. I'm only 5'8'', but I'm confident to say women have established strong eye contact with me because of my aura, and my "X-Frame" body. The best way to stand out at the gym is to be on your "A" game. Have the muscles to back it up, clean cut hair, and the correct sportswear.

2. Get noticed by having aggressive workouts: SHOW OFF UNIQUE/AGGRESSIVE WORKOUTS! My most favorite drills are Plyometric workouts. By inducing high jumps cleanly at high speeds everyone in the gym will notice you. While everyone else is doing the same old curls, benches and squats, your over at the corner looking like a pro-star athlete and women love athletes. In addition, Plyometrics is a "HIIT" (high intense interval traning) which is actually a GREAT way to get a six pack.


3. Establishing eye contact at specific times:
Establishing eye contact is a no-brainer. However, you MUST time your eye contact while you think she is looking at you. You want to catch her staring at you while your doing your work outs, project a "manly expression". The expression doesn't have to be crazy looking, just look focused and powerful. When you stare at her, keep it short, and look away. Never stare or look at a women while your standing around idle. When you're idle, stare at yourself in the mirror and only yourself.

4.DO NOT APPROACH ON THE FIRST EYE CONTACT Women are constantly being picked up at the gym by douche bags, tools, and overly buff people. You need to time your approach and establish the fact that she desires YOU. Once you've established that you've caught her staring at you more than 2-5 times feel free to go up to her.

The approach: One of the most hardest things to do is to approach, but just like the Nike slogan says "Just do it". And when you go up to her, don't act like you're oblivious that she's interested in you. If you caught her looking at you at LEAST 2-3 times, she's interested to know who you are. Easiest thing to do is to introduce yourself. EASIEST! "Hi *pause* I'm *name*... Bring up a topic that's relative to your surroundings (day, time, occasion, trainers, funny looking people etc) Example: I see a girl working out on a friday night I'll ask her... "Why aren't you partying like everyone else?!"... After establishing rapport, give a genuine interest in her and ask her if you can get to know her a bit better...

Final Thoughts

Picking up a girl at the gym may not be so easy. It took me two years to figure this out because not only did I have to work on approaching women, I also had to get in shape and build muscle and cardio. Lately I've gotten a lot of numbers, f-closed, as well as made some great female friends. I hope this helps you.

thanks bud, definitely great info you're sharing with us. its unfortunate that my gym has virtually 0 girls working out in the weight room where i spend most of my time when i'm there. however when i graduate university i'll relocate to a gym with hotties no doubt. would you care to share any additional working out techniques that you have found success from? such as which foods to eat, supplements, workouts, etc. i'd be all ears on it :)

Thanks for the feed back GoodButNotGreat. I don't mind sharing more information. I was a college ice hockey player so a lot of my education came from my coaches and my work ethics. I'm not a trainer nor have a degree in kinesthesiology. But here is what I know.

Work hard, rest hard. Without resting, you cannot work out.

General Information
Six days a week and day off on the seventh. Sometimes 5 days a week if your busy. You don't want to be overly buff. Workout to be healthy rather than a meat head Turn it into a lifestyle that you must be fit. I train for Three things 1)Health 2) Ice Hockey 3) Show off


Flashy "Show off body" Muscles
1. Shoulders are 3 parts (rear, mid, front Deltoid)
2. Chest are 3 parts (top, middle, bottom chest)
3. Calf

Schedule
3 days a week for lifting while the other 3 is for sports like basketball, swimming, or whatever.. Working the same muscles over again is counter productive and you'll end up injuring yourself.

I separate my front/back/legs on different days.

1. Front or Pushing muscles - Chest, triceps and Front Deltoids
2. Legs - Calf, Quads, Hammies
3. Back or Pulling muscles - Traps, Lats, biceps

Example on scheduling:
monday: Front/Pushing Muscles, Plyometrics, abs
Tuesday: Legs, Basketball, Spinning class (bike machines), abs
Wednesday: Back/Pulling Muscles, Plyometrics, abs
Thursday: Ice Hockey, abs
Friday: Ice Hockey, abs
Saturday: Cardio, Plyometrics, Swimming, abs

What is HIIT?
High-intensity interval training (HIIT) or sprint interval training is an exercise strategy that is intended to improve performance with short training sessions. HIIT is a form of cardio which is beneficial to burning fat in a short and intense workout. Usual HIIT sessions may vary from 9–20 minutes. The original protocol set a 2:1 ratio for work to recovery periods. For example, a runner would alternate 15-20 seconds of hard sprinting with 10 seconds of jogging or walking. What are Plyometrics?
Plyometrics (also known as "plyos") is a type of exercise training designed to produce fast, powerful movements, and improve the functions of your body. Plyometric movements, in which a muscle in rapid sequence, use the strength, elasticity and innervation of muscle and surrounding tissues to jump higher, run faster, throw farther, or hit harder, depending on the desired training goal. Plyometrics is used to increase the speed or force of muscular contractions, providing explosiveness for a variety of sport-specific activities. In my own experience, Women love seeing this, and men are intimidated by it!

Nutrition
First thing comes to my mind is beer. I still drink it I love it and I still have my six pack. Thanks to my genes I have a fast metabolism. All I can say is:


After and before workouts Complex Carbs- Wheats, brown rice, vegatables
Liquids - Gatorade and 1-2 gallons of water per day
Protein - Whey Protein, chicken, and fish.

Nutrition is important for results!

Supplements
Supplements can be a waste of money. A huge waste of money. I still fall for their advertisements and take Whey+Creatine+Amino Acids. All I can say is I value my athleticism therefore I don't mind taking supplements. It gets me going almost everyday. Do research on those three and you'll figure it out...

It's my understanding that 2 gallons of water per day is not only unnecessary, but puts undue strain on the kidneys for NON performance athletes. Most people don't sweat nearly enough to need that kind of water intake on top of all of the liquids consumed in foods and by other beverages.

Am I wrong?

Hm, every time I leave the gym pumped I get checked out by girls... they do different things than me though so I don't see any during workout. I've been wondering how I could approach them when we're essentially walking past each other?

I think that would be really hard to pull off. Maybe start a convo when filling up the water bottles or at the scales...

Top quality stuff, guys! Let me add that while at the gym I love to grunt. When lifting I always make sure to let out booming grunts. That kind of primal rage is a very big sexual turn on for the chicks.

Am I the only one here who gets rock solid hard after a workout? I am talking "gotta unzip" type of hard. This causes me to avoid all contact with the chicks after working out. Instead, I usually finish things off in the showers and end up having no sex drive after.

( by the post above you have to imagine a uper middle age weirdo, grunting at the gym in order to turn chicks but which have for only result getting HIMSELF started and others creeped out, and then finishing himself in the shower YOU GUYS use as well. Yeah, he is the old man you see walking around in the locker room with the hard-on and the self-satisfactory look on his face. It's this guy)

oh and I don't think any quality women likes to be hit on at the gym. Only *****s,in my experience. With my friends we always think guys that try to impress you at the gym are pathetic. Just my opinion.
I mean we go there to workout, not to be stalked by guys trying to make "eye contact" it's just annoying. I always thought it was cheesy and like thinking, what do they expect? that i'm in the mood for flirt while surfering???

That being said, I see where OP's procedure would be a great fit for someone who goes to many gyms across the land. However, if you are a regular at the same gym, I advise caution with picking up there (if you are a tool). I have seen this backfire before, and then the dude becomes a running joke. But he still wants to work out, so he comes back to the gym, despite the awkwardness he has created. If you are not a tool, and know how to act, then you will operate accordingly.

Great way to get a six Pack" Actually, correct me if I'm wrong here but this isn't the original protocol but the protocol tested by Dr.Tabata. This is no magic number and it's important to realize these guys were going at 170% vo2max, which is crazy intense. The rest periods wern't just walking vo2max either, it was not 0 or 10 %.

1) you look creepy, its a gym not a club
2) you go to the gym to work out, not pick up
3) if youre at the gym gtf out of the way Im training so I can get the girls you cant.
