Hey guys,

I recently took a yr off college and now I moved back and is living with 5 other "cool" guys. I met all their friends (guys and girls) and they all seem to love me and find me cool. (people said it explicitly unless they are lying to my face lol)

However, the problem is, I find it hard to connect with them on a daily basis. I can be pretty fun if there was some activity going on like a beer pong/flip cups but on day time, it just feels weird. I can shoot $hit with my own friends back in Toronto but just can`t do it at school.

Secondly, there always have parties so how do I find out where they are heading without sounding too needy? I sometimes just ask casually "what r guys doing tonight." or sometimes they just tell me where they will go. However, what I want is to be the first person to know what parties are going on instead of last.

Finally, how do I become the host of parties because I feel a lot more confident throwing my own things than just be a guest? My previous friends aren't party types so the probability that they will come is slim.

Sometimes it takes a really long time to connect with people. And I don't really know your situation so I can't help you there.

BUT I can help you with the parties. To be the guy who knows where all the parties are at you have to network network network and make friends friends friends. Preferably good friends with fraternity and sorority members, then they will invite you/ tell you ahead of time all the parties. The more friends the quicker you find out about parties. Anyways if you have a facebook a lot of people post their parties through there so that can help.

Host of parties looks good on paper but is harder in reality. But here is a checklist for you.
1) You provide all the alcohol with your money. Beer is always needed usually with pong and then several handles of hard liquor or jungle juice.
2) You have to decide whether to charge a cover or not. Sometimes people won't come if there is a cover. If there is no cover people might try to come and mooch all your alcohol and you will need people at the door to stop large groups of guys without girls coming in. Most parties charge a small cover for guys and none for girls, however you still might lose money at the end of the night.
3) You are responsible for advertising and inviting. This part frankly isn't too hard because people will always go to alcohol and partying when there is nothing else to do on fridays/the weekend. Just invite your inner group of friends tell them to bring whoever. You might also want to make a flyer or make a facebook event and just invite all your friends.
4) Noise complaints and underaged drinking can land you in trouble if you don't know how to handle yourself. If you live in a dorm you might have to keep the noise level down. If in house/townhouse it probably won't matter too much.
5) You clean up the mess in the morning. Drunk people will ALWAYS spill a little beer at the very least on your floor. At the very worst they will vomit on your floor. Swiffers and clorox wipes can help get the stains out quick off hardwood floor but carpet is a little harder.

Thanks bro. Lot of good tips on throwing a party. Money, noise, and mess are not a concern. We already throw house parties time to time at our house.

Ill take your advice. I think I will bring a BBQ to this house so at least I can throw bbq after parties. What other good stuffs I can bring to the house? We already have beer pongs, poker table, xbox 360, patio.

The only other thing you might want if you throw a really big party is some sort of speaker/music setup cause some parties have a dancefloor in the basement or second or w/e. It seems like you have enough entertainment at your own place with your poker table and 360's and whatnot which you don't really need but I doubt it would hurt. Also how do you plan to do a bbq after the party? Most parties I went to/threw go like this: Invite time is around 10:30. Few people come early around 11-11:30 lots of people start coming in. The party is crowded and continues to be until around 1am when people start leaving somewhat. Then around 3am the party is usually done. What I've seen some people do is host like a general barbecue in the afternoon/towards night time maybe till 9 or 10 or even 11 and then wrap up the barbecue and transition into a party. But maybe party times are different where you are.

Also a general rule of thumb you should invite a little bit more people than you want to come. The reason is people always flake for one reason or another, and lots of people means word of your parties can spread around quicker especially for future events.
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I'm living with 5 guys and I made pretty good impression on their girlfriends and female friends as well.
