My roommate rented it for the lesbian scene he heard about. The ending was mediocre, the story was pretty predictable. But the lessons in it was pretty interesting. It's billed as romantic thriller, but its not. It's a deconstruction of the aging woman's psyche.
The first thing that stood out to me is that this woman while smart and accomplished is still a woman, with a woman's needs. It shows the true nature of game laid bare. It shows aging women and their fears once they hit the wall. In a very telling quote she tells her husband, you keep getting brighter and better and I'm just getting, old. It's like I'm invisible. It also shows that women both hate and love the fact that other women want you. Pre selection is golden. They may act out against it, play games, and manipulate but they would rather act out against a man with options than settle for a man with none. As Roissy says, 5 minutes of alpha is worth more than a lifetime of beta.
