The whole concept of romantic comedies disgust me to the point where watching them makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit every time I see one. All the romantic comedies can be condensed into this(with some variations to the theme):
Boy meets girls(or vice versa), stuff happens, they fall in love. Insert scenes of happiness and/or ridiculous stuff where love is shining. Boy does something stupid, girl pissed off, girl leaves, guy hijacks car/taxi/helicopter/shark to chase after girl, falls on knees, girl breaks and they live happily ever after.
The problem with these movies is that they glorify the whole "the girl makes the relationship" thingy, which is bullsh!t. A relationship is nothing but 2 people putting something in and getting something out of it. A guy who sees girls as expendable and replaceable might find "true" love, but that's because true love doesn't exist, it's something Walt Disney made up to make little girls his slaves and purchase his products.
Love on the other he will find, but like all things in life(and life itself), it has an expiration date. Love eventually dies out, or one of the people involved dies and the result is the same thing: broken heart(s) and tears. Everyone who puts in a bit of effort will find (mutual) love, however, there is a point where love doesn't work anymore, but the whole Disney generation girls(and even the girls before that) seem to think that love will over come anything. Which it won't, because humans weren't even made to be monogamous, it's just a cultural thing.
