lol. Why do you say that bro? At certain times I have no problem making fun of my self. Or I could use it and switch it around to use it on a girl, while indirectly making fun of her.

Actually when you're short (and I am trust me) the best way to handle being short is making a joke about it. So if someone says somethin about it you go up to them with a smile on your face so they know you're kidding and say "What are you trying to say I'm short? wanna take this outside?!"

Self depreciating humor is for those who are above average to bring themselves down to normal and for stand up comedians. Otherwise its just pointing out that you are uncomfortable with yourself and are trying to disarm the situation preemptively by making a joke out of it when nobody even brought it up. Fix your inner game issues. I'm 5'8 and rarely get called short, I don't overcompensate nor do I joke on myself. I carry myself with respect, you should do the same.

The last time I heard something about my height was a bar where this jealous 6'2 guy was mad that I was hitting on one of the girls at his table. He started bragging about how he could pull any chic in the place...I said what's your secret bro, he replied, Get tall like me and you'll know! I retorted with, 'well that's not gonna happen, I guess I'm just gonna have to settle for being charming and good looking'. Needless to say he was even more pissed when the girls laughed at that.

Never put yourself down. Ever.

Great post War74. It's obvious you have a lot of confidence in yourself and your comment about never putting yourself down and not using self-depreciating humor is spot on.

BTW at 5'8 you're not short. You're only two inches from average and taller than 95% of women. I'm 5'6 so...I'm going to stop there before I say anything else.
