Dear Prudence,
My boyfriend and I are in a healthy and loving relationship, and we are beginning to talk about marriage. We both want the same number of kids at the same point in our lives. It is presumed that these will be our biological children. The issue is, I'm not sure that I would want to bear my boyfriend's children. While he is incredibly intelligent and has a great personality, he is markedly less physically attractive than I am. We get occasional lighthearted comments from friends and family about the discrepancy. Having biological children has never been important to me, and I think adoption is great. I believe that he will be an amazing father and that our children, biological or adopted, would be bright and well-behaved as a result of good parenting. Should I bring these thoughts up with him? I think he would be open to the idea of adoption but would also be hurt by my rationale. At what point should we discuss this more seriously, and how should I tell him how I feel?

wow.

At least this is a piece of evidence that even guys whose looks are so horrible to cause a woman to want to adopt can get into relationships.

Two options come to mind.

1. He's loaded
2. She's not as hot as she thinks she is.

Either way yea- the dude is probably so hideious that she cringes at the thought of actually mixing her eggs with his baby batter. I would suggest that she cheat to get some high quality sprem- but in this age the likelyhood of a DNA test is getting higher every day. If I were her I would delay as long as possible and wringing him out in divorce court; then proceed to have the babies of a non-circus freak.

Dear Mature DJ,
I wouldn't lose sleep over this.......Its very well written though isn't it?too well written, carries all the Hallmarks of a Journalists style,as do all the other letters....Ask yourself honestly just how likely is this situation?

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Her womense translation:

"My boyfriend is an ugly fvck whom I despise and the only reason I am with him is because he has money and I can't get anyone better. I rather raise someone elses unwanted bastard children then have his d1ck inside me and impregnant me because once I get married to him, he will never sleep with me again. Hell I will just fvck behind his back like I did in college and get pregnant this way and hopefully my husband won't suspect anything and won't bring me on the maury povitch show for DNA testing in 3 years."

I agree with Scaramouche! Something isn't right about that article. If shes so concerned about beauty then whats she doing with an ugly man. Also she says that she isn't concerned about having biological children even though she is concerned about her chrildren getting the best genes.

I wonder will she only adopt good looking chrildren incase people think an ugly child is hers...

If it's true then it's evidence that looks are not everything in attraction.

Online journos get poorly written letters from readers and they have to clean them up before posting on the website.

So, do you guys think this guy should have this b1tch as a girlfriend?

the funny thing is, she is having these thoughts all behind his back, so HE probably thinks that she is the perfect woman, when in reality he should not have her as a girlfriend, or any other b1tch as a girlfriend, and he should just be having fun with his (implied) money!

Dear Jitterbug,
Your comment"Online journos get poorly written letters from readers and they have to clean them up before posting on the website"makes a lot of sense and I am sure is standard procedure....still notwithstanding,it seems as if all these letters have a similar style, the words roll and develop that consistent cadence or rhythm that only really skilled writers achieve. Embellishments or inventions?we shall never know,as an afterthought if you had to make a living out of answering the emotional problems of the female unwashed out there,a little creativity might be necessary now and then.

Two things y'all might notice if you click on the link to the post. One is the prudence character's response is pretty funny. Two is it clearly says on the top of the page that "questions may be edited" which gives this prudence character full legal and ethical permission to rewrite to her hearts content.

I can imagine her taking the same tired old relationship questions and putting an interesting spin on them to generate readership.

This ain't "broken glass."
