It's fine to do it a few times a week, and is beneficial to your mood, releases certain endorphins and like the person above said, reduces risk of prostate cancer.

Doing it too often will have negative effects though, it will leave you feeling lazy and you'll feel a huge lack in motivation, your mood will actually become worse and you'll find it hard to concentrate.

I know this because I've done many little I guess you could call social experiments on myself. Last year I masturbated ridiculously often for a few months, then did not masturbate for 40 odd days straight and noted the changes I felt in my body.

Obviously there will be some differences as we may not be the same, but still, it's a generalization.

I don't do it. It makes you lazy. Being horny is a motivator. Also, when I have f buddies, I get lazy. I sarge less. Sure, I'm more productive at work, walking in with that "I just had wild sex last night" look on my face, shaking everyones hand, etc, which in turn attracts girls, but don't get too comfortable in a masturbation routine.

I think that excessive masturbation is problematic based on personal experience. Because you may only condition yourself to get turned on through artificial means, and then when the actual event when you're with a girl feels unnatural. Therefore I believe it should be moderated i.e. don't jack off when you're bored, just do it when you're extremely horny.
