I know this stuff is just basically sugar. Supposedly you need carbs right after a workout. Should I use this stuff if am wanting to lean down?

Strictly speaking, no don't use it if you're trying to cut bodyfat. You can probably get away with taking it if the rest of your program(diet/lifting/cardio) is good, but it'll only make the process longer.

Just have a piece of fruit or two post-workout, healthier for you anyways.

make sure your muscle glycogen is replenished. a lot of fruit will not do that for you.

What does everyone think about vextrago or the carbs derived from waxy maize?

Its a complex carbohydrate supplement that PVL puts into their gainer Mutant Mass. I've been having decent gains on it as long as I was strict with my diet. When I was taking it regularly and at 3500+ calories w/ good protein intake I found my muscles felt quite full and I had good pumps.

Strength gains were adequate, but nothing crazy. Still it was nice to feel a good pump and have "full" muscles.

yes it will. in a glycogen-starved environment fructose (which is not the ONLY type of carb in fruit) can and will be stored as muscle glycogen. perhaps not as efficiently on paper, but no-one on here will see a real-world difference.

muscle glycogen can be replenished even without carbs! (I coulda sworn I posted this a few minutes ago in another thread.. and in another thread last year sometime.. and probably before that too.. :D)

I've noticed nothing special from waxy maize. Other people claim things like pumps and feeling amped up and stuff after taking it but i've not felt anything special. I swear a lot of supplements are just placebo type effects. "I FEEEEEL IT." Maybe or maybe not for this product, but i take it because it's about the same price as other sugary stuff like gatorade powder or whatever. I've never looked at just using table sugar.

And i mix some protein and creatine (CEE) in with it and it's fairly palatable in chocolate.
