I met this girl at a party over a year and a half ago. I asked the guy who threw the party, "Who was that girl?" He gave me her screen name but I never really talked to her since other than an occasional "Hey" or "check out these pics from the party".

For some reason the other day I sent her an IM to see if she remembered me. I told her for some reason I had put a mental asterisk next to her screen name on my buddy list reminding me to talk to her again.

We got into talking and she's going to college in the city, so I said "Hey I go to the city often to visit my Uncle at work, you should show me around sometime."

She responded "Definitely" and then typed me her number, telling me to call if I was ever in the area. I put her number in my phone then she had to go so our conversation ended.

So yea basically spent 10 minutes on AIM talkin' to this HB8 and figured maybe I'd call her next time I visit my Uncle at NBC, which is blocks away from where she goes to school. However, I don't wanna seem AFC and get LJBF'd by this chick. What I really want to do is capitalize on the fact that she is living alone in her dorm and is pretty hot. So I figured we'll spend some time together one night and hopefully I can work my magic.

How do I make it seem that taking the 60 mile train ride to the city is not AFC? I did tell her I'll see her when I'm in the area to visit my Uncle anyway, but showing up alone at her dorm may make me look a bit desperate. Maybe I should call her with my cell and have her meet me somewhere? Do we go out to dinner? Do I call her when I'm there or do I call her the day before saying "Hey I'm going to the city tomorrow"? Discuss...

Tough one.
Maybe you can do some straight up Mystery method stuff like call her to see what she's up to and then just say "I'm in the city right now. I'm coming over"
or instead of saying "I'm coming over" say "Lets go out to lunch, I'm starving"
Don't ask for it, just state it like if she's already agreed to it.

I see and I agree this is a tough situation to read considering the distance between us. I might go to the city some day during this week, on a weekday, to visit my Uncle. I think I'll call her when I get done talking to him and say "I'm in the city. Where can I find you?"

Or I could do like you said "I'm in the city. I'm coming over." but then she has the control because I don't know exactly where she is or if she's even home. Maybe mention "yea i'm starving. show me a good place to eat."
