I dated a girl for a few years, and broke up with her ~3 years ago. She always had this really good friend who I thought was cute. After a few years of not seeing her, I ran into this friend last night. We talked/hung out for a while (I still have her # from years back)

Is this a worthwhile endeavor, and if so how should I approach it? Or is it just a lost cause.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Why did you break-up? Think about this and call her.

Just to clarify, I am in no way trying to get back with my ex. I am trying to get with my ex's friend.

My ex and I broke up because we just drifted apart, and I am pretty sure she started seeing another guy on the side of me (I haven't spoke with my ex in ~3 yrs).

might aswell go for it, you got nothing to lose. ask her to go to coffee or something to 'catch up'

She is really in to music and my buddy's band is playing in two weeks. I think Ill see if she will come out to that (no pressure approach)
