It depends on the type of working out you do and your diet. I doubt one or two beers a week will affect your diet too much if you're eating right though.

I agree and I know many have said on here that a little red wine here and there is good for you.

BTW your title was misleading. I thought you were downing beers and shots during squats or something haha

Thanks for the replies.

No I don't drink during my workout :p But you know I know some friends who smoke weed before abs training. They don't feel tired, and they got quick results. Well it's something I won't do though.

Maybe this idea could be implemented to a dietary program? Beer bulking :p
But alcohol is a bad idea while training, the way body metabolizes it reduces overall muscle strength for some reason.

Just don't drink immediately after, before or during the workout. The body prioritizes metabolizing the alcohol, so that you don't get the full rebuilding effect that you would otherwise get w/o alcohol.

I drink myself to near-death each weekend and drink 2 glasses a day in week days. I go 3 times to the gym a week and I don't notice any trouble, lol.

I did that in college. The key is light beer and shots.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Yea, what's with that 'light beer' thing? I don't even know what that is. Over here we just have normal beer and specials, like that double and triple brewed stuff from the monks (which is awesome, I might add). But light, we just don't have that over here. Is that like, diet-coke beer?

US 'light beers' (Bud Light, etc.) generally have fewer calories and carbs but nearly as much alcohol as their namesake. This only helps a lifter who's strictly limiting carbs -- the main problem with alcohol for all lifters is the way it replaces other energy sources & throws off the hormones.

The problem w/ drinking for lifters is proportional to how serious you are about it -- if lifting is your life, and esp. if you have a deep 'need to be lean' you should consider going entirely w/o alcohol. Otherwise, only worry about it to the extent that you're devoting many hours to other aspects of your health.

Wine is definitely the healthiest adult beverage, but no matter what you're drinking, you'll be fine as long as you do it moderation on the weekends and dedicate your week to working out and being healthy. Unless, like the above poster said, you're a competitive lifter whose life revolves around the gym. Then you should obviously avoid alcohol - but if you live that lifestyle, you're used to abstaining from all kinds of unhealthy "treats".
