What is your definition of average looking?

There seems to be alot of subjectivity about what "average looking" is.

My definition and the most logical definition:

Not attractive, but not ugly. Basically, 45% of the female population.

Perfect example is the girl from American Pie (the band camp girl)

I think some people incorrectly refer to girls who aren't hot as average looking. One step below hot is cute, which is above average.
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

To me about 5% or less are really hot, 5% or so are sick ugly and the rest fall into a typical bell curve. The curve is skewed here though because of excessive weight. There are a lot of 2-3 that could be 6-7 if they'd just hit the damn treadmill.

agreed with johnson. I think in America, the average is not very attractive. If you went to China or Eastern Europe, the average girl would probably be cute (7ish) because they aren't so fat over there.

Glad you agree. Very few people are ugly and very few people are extremely good-looking in the US. It goes something like this.

5%-ugly
45%- Average
45% Attractive/cute
5%- Very attractive

If people were not so fat in this country, it would look something like this:

5%-Ugly
30%-Average
55%-Attractive/cute
10%-Very attractive

I believe the so called "average" ones can be uplifted with proper make up, dressing, etc. they just choose not to or don't realize they need to, such as the American Pie band camp girl, she wasn't all so hot in the beginning but when the American Pie Wedding movie came out she was pretty banging when she had more make up on and so on. You could say a make over would do the job

It's funny though that a lot of those girls will have other less troubling but still a little off-putting issues. For instance in a lot of the world straight or even mostly straight teeth are not nearly as common as here. It can be cute but in many cases it's just really distracting.

In India there was a shocking laxity in personal hygiene that was distressing.

I've yet to spend much time in Eastern Europe but my impression was that it's much better. Japan was also very nice. :)
