Hey guys, probably one of my first times posting in this section; have a quick question and need some advice.

I have a really bad case of dry skin on my face. Now, last year I didn't really take too much effort to get it fixed; I pretty much just let it sit there. it gets really crusty and hard.

This year, I've decided to apply Vaseline to my face every night before I go to bed. When I wake up in the morning, I take a hot shower and my face appears to be normal by the time I am done! After my hot shower, I brush my teeth, fix up my hair, and use Nivea Face Wash for Men. It took me about 2 months for this process to start taking effect, but I've been doing this each and every day for the past 7 months now and it seems to be great!

However, now my face seems to be dependent on Vaseline. Wonder if what I am doing is safe or not, or if anybody can recommend anything to eliminate my face from being dry; maybe a one time use cream. It's a headache to apply this cream each and every night! (Despite the fact that it has worked.)

I've tried avoiding salty foods, I drink a lot of water, etc; just need some advice about this.

Also, a side question, not sure if this has been posted before or not but I'll just say it anyway. I have this weird problems with my fingers, under the nail part of your finger, there is some skin... my skin near that area is very dry and it peals and you can see that the nail area is not too healthy. Anybody recommend anything? It is not that my hands are dry... my hands are fine, its just the skin right under my fingernails.

Thanks for your time,
Nick.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

STOP USING VASELINE ON YOUR FACE

it will clog your pores and give you acne

get cetaphil lotion and just put iton in the morning.
switch your face soap to just dove soap (like the stuff you shower with) or cetaphil facewash.

Yeah, a couple of my friends told me the same thing. However, I do not have a single pimple on my face since I have started using this method.
I use dove soap for my body, if more posts recommend I will start using the same soap on my face as well. I should note though that body soap might have too much oil which I was told is not good to put on your face.

Furthurmore, is "cetaphil lotion" something that is visible if put on in the morning? I'm more of putting stuff on at the night when nobody can see, so I look like I have nice natural skin in the morning. ;)
