While I thought all of these were good (except for Apocolypse Now) I think Platoon was brilliant and one of the BEST War Movies out there ever.

Not saying it was the best, but also Hamburger Hill was a Vietnam movie.
I liked platoon. Funny you posted this I read about Apocalypse Now on wiki yesterday. Martin Sheen almost had a heart attack during it, and he was really struggling with alcohol at the time.

Yes, Hamburger Hill was not a bad movie. Based on a true story I think as well....I forgot about that one.Ricky said:

Casualties of War was also incredible too, and equally disturbing and objective.
They really put heroic all-American propaganda movies like Saving Private Ryan and Pearl Harbour into perspective.

Pearl Harbor sucked. The only scenes that were well done was the bombing of Pearl Harbor. It annoyed me they had two crummy actors who play the heroes, one who makes you falsely believe the Americans played a "huge" part in the Battle of Britain. Only 7 Americans fought in the Battle of Britain.

Born on the 4th of July was a good movie (I read the book) but the majority of the story DOES NOT take place in Vietnam, so it does not count.KneghtRyder said:
