just thought in light of many recent posts perhaps this diatribe might be of entertainment.
one of the things common to most threads is that people lack a perspective on life. people somehow have this thought in their head that life is suppose to be perfect and if its not then they are a loser.
too many years of watching 'friends' on tv and other such programming has lead people to believe that everyone should be cute and fluffy and prancing about having fun all the time.
the reality is that life is hard for most people. it rarely lives up to expectations. so much of it is window dressing, which when you get behind the surface layer is nowhere near as pretty as it appeared (and usually not worth what you paid).
- tons of peopel are living in poverty
- you got wars going
- you got people depressed
- you got peopel murdering and raping people
- you got people shooting up schools
- you got people addicted to all kinds of things
- you got pervs who like people taking sh*ts on them
- you're loved ones will eventually all die
- you are going to die
- you got women prostituting their bodies ont he street and in porn
- you got cancer, heart attacks, brain tumors, etc.
- you got people who get hit by drunk drivers and cant walk again
- you got people morbidly obese
- you got erectile dysfunctions and yeast infections
the list goes on and on and on.
the good news in all this is that YOU are probably just fine. you probably are healthy and have a job and are in no imminent danger of death.
so women troubles aside, you are in a damn good spot right now compared to A LOT of people in this world.
so next time you are wondering - WHY ME? - try to put things in perspective. don't let a WOMAN, or a sh*tty boss, or a cr*ppy friend, make you forget how f*cking fortunate you are right this moment.
because guess what, you won't be this fortunate forever. one day your body is going to break down and you will die. so i don't care what problems are vexing you right now, you have the power to 1) realize that they are only problems because you see them as problems (take a better view, call them challenges instead) and 2) whatever challenges you do have are fewer than you should have statistically speaking (odds are you are one of the lucky ones who didn't get raped, hit by a drunk driver, etc.)
anyway, felt like giving myself a buck up speech and thought id share with all of you
in the past 2 months i've basically ignored 6 HOT chics who i should have asked out - but my mind has been stuck in existential la la land lately (happens to me now and then). trying to remind myself that the I need to stop thinking about life so much and get in to living it more because im one of the lucky ones who has all the faculties to live a full life.
