Everytime someone says, "I'd have jumped in", someone follows up with saying "no, you wouldn't have". The truth is, there are people who wont just stand there and watch out there. Why is that so hard to believe? Because the only news you ever hear about is the guy who got beat down while 20 people just stood there and watched. You never hear about the couragious guy who jumped in and STOPPED the fight.
Let me tell you something. Back in high school, myself and a group of friends decided to go hang out in our "secret" spot and get high. Apparently, it wasn't so secret. A truck full of three other teenagers pulled up and one of them came down and started talking **** to one of the guys in our group. Suddenly, for no reason what-so-ever, he started beating the crap out of him. My friends just stood there and watched. We were all too stoned to do anything. The guy left after beating the kid down for almost five minutes (with his shoe!) and left saying, "If any of you say anything I'll beat your ass too". I vowed never to let anything like that happen around me, again. And I never have. Since that day, I began getting a reputation of the school bodyguard as I broke up atleast 10 fights a year (including a chick fight, which was sad, cause I wanted to see some shirts fly off).
Now that I'm older, I've been breaking up bar fights. So, yes, there are people out there that don't just stand there and watch. I can honestly say that I would have stopped that fight. I can't say I'd beat the other guys ass like a lot of people say, but I can say that I'd have tried to stop it.
On the other hand, you can understand the "white peoples" (there was an asian guy in there too) reacted. They didn't know what the hell was going on!
