Hey guys, was reading infomation on making homemade shakes and came across with almonds, where it contains great amount of calories from heathly fats and proteins. When I was shopping for it in the supermarket, I came across another form of almonds which came in powder form. Comparing with pure almonds (as in the nut), the nutritional facts are different, with the powder form having 5 times less in protein, fat and calorie content (both measured from Per 100g perspective). Nevertheless I brought the powder form version since I thought it would mix better in a blender.

Are they any different? How come the nurtritional values differ so much? Will the powder form work just as effective as the pure ones???

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Sometimes its the drying process that destroys some of the protein content of the almonds (eg. if the almonds been overly roasted in an oven befor powdering). Sometimes certain manifactorers put some additives in the powders for bulk.

Just to resurrect this thread, I want to say that I have almonds in my car, at my job and in my room at home. I eat them all the time and love them! Im thinking of throwing them into some shakes too.

I believe the almond powder become rancid in short period of time.

Why? Being ground up it will allow much greater surface area to be exposured to oxygen to oxidizing the fats.

I agree with another poster, the almond powder has fillers in it.

Almonds are for sure a power food with excellent vit. E levels, high protein, and heart healthy fat.
