okay so the last two weeks i've literally had atleast eight-ten 8+'s show IOI's very clearly, a few were at warped tour, a few at cedar point, a few around locally, etc. this thread isn't to brag or so everyone thinks i am cool, and i consider myself to be decent looking and like alot of people have been told that i am handsome or good looking. my problem is that even when i can tell a girl is interested, i still have a problem initiating a convo. i pretty much fell in love w/ a girl the other day and we both gave eachother long ec and smiles, and she gave me many oppurtunities to start a convo, but i never did. i don't know why or what causes this, i am a little nervous but no that nervous. when i start the convo i am fine, but starting is the problem. what do you do to pump yourselves up before you make the approach? any help is appreciated.

Try to make sure you have something to say - For me, it wasn't about pumping myself up, it was about realising what I was afraid of. That was: I'm afraid that there will be an awkward silence, not the rejection. To get around that problem I try to have a stadard "rap" that I use, just a few stories, topics, jokes, ****y negs or compliments etc I know it's best to think of something specific about the girl but I'm not the best when I'm put on the spot, my fear just freezes me. Once the convo starts though, again like you I can think on my feet.

once i get started everything flows, but it just getting started. i really need to work on this.

Start with <smile> "hello." It can be done even when you are petrified. Practice by walking by people - <smile> "hello." ... repeat. Thats pretty much it.
