ever notice how you can feel all alpha and confident one day and kinda insecure the next day? well this happens to me once in a while, last week i was chilling with some of my friends, didnt really feel like talking, so i just sat in the back and listened, then they started gossiping about another of my friends, which i couldn't stand after a while, so i stood up and said, "okay guys, lets cut the gossip, i wouldn't want anyone to talk about any of us here this way, and i'm sure you feel the same." afterwards, my confidence/charisma just soared through the roof, i tried this again this week, and the same results.

anyways, the moral of the story is to always stand up for something/someone you believe, in a nice way too, because sooner or later, stuff like gossip is gonna come up, and if you put an end to it, not only will others respect you, but also you will yourself.
