As I walk by or drive by or what ever and see a girl say for example next to a 7-11, I will ask her "Excuse me, do you know where I can find 7-11?" Most of the time, she will look around and then say "ammm, right there", and then i get a funny smirk and say "ahhh, wow, I guess I got caught with my attention somewhere else,.... (laught, giggle what ever) then... Well, whats your name? bla bla bla.. thats cool, where u from... "Well I just moved here, and I am trying it would be nice to meet the neigbors, how about icecream on me since you helped me out with 7-11"

Dont think it can be done? If your DonJuan.. it can... note "neighbors" makes you feel less of a stranger, "icecream" sounds innocent and in public, AND you flattered her big time by not realizing 7-11 (usually Its not that obvious, i.e. it be some store or bank) was right there cause your "focus" was somewhere else..
